About

Beth Georgiou is a UK-based violinist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist working under the name LUX SYMMETRY.

Trained in violin and performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, and later in sound design and electronic music at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin, Beth’s work has developed at the meeting point between instrumental performance and electronic sound.

She has performed internationally, including as a soloist, with recent touring taking her across New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and North America. Her performance history includes venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Sydney Opera House, alongside a wider career spanning live performance, touring, studio work and collaboration.

At the centre of LUX SYMMETRY is the violin, acoustic and electric, treated not simply as a traditional lead instrument, but as a source of texture, atmosphere, rhythm and sound design. Beth’s wider practice incorporates synthesis, electronic production, keyboards and saxophone, allowing her to move fluidly between performer, collaborator and producer.

She frequently works with electronic artists in both studio and live settings, including touring support and collaborative performance. In 2022, she released the collaborative album In The Darkness You Were Smiling with Yellow6, exploring a more ambient, post-rock and textural side of her work.

Improvisation is central to her musical identity. An instinctive, ear-led player, Beth is comfortable working beyond the written score, responding in real time to artists, spaces, sound and audience. That spontaneity is at the heart of how she performs and collaborates.
